Privacy policy

Last updated October 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Harkai (“Harkai”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with our website at useharkai.com, the Harkai application at app.useharkai.com, and any related services (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide. When you create an account, connect an integration, or contact us, we collect information such as your name, email address, company name, website, and any content you submit, including your company profile, brand guidelines, product descriptions, and messages to our support team.

Information from connected services. When you sign in with a third-party provider (such as GitHub or Google) or connect an integration (such as GitHub, Slack, Linear, or Notion), we receive the information you authorize that provider to share. For source code repositories this may include repository metadata, pull request titles and descriptions, commit messages, and code changes for the repositories you grant us access to.

Information collected automatically. When you use the Services, we automatically collect technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, timestamps, and error logs. We also log access to hosted resources, such as fetches of your hosted product knowledge.

Generated content. We store the content the Services produce for you, including release analyses, product knowledge updates, launch plans, drafts, and chat conversations.

2. How we use information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your repository content or customer content to train artificial intelligence models.

3. Legal bases for processing

Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we process personal information on the following bases: to perform our contract with you; for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Services; to comply with legal obligations; and, where required, with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

4. Artificial intelligence processing

To generate analyses and drafts, the Services send relevant content, such as release details and company information, to third-party large language model providers. These providers process the content on our behalf under agreements that prohibit using it to train their models. We exclude lock files, build output, and binary files before sending content for processing.

5. How we share information

We share information only as described below:

6. International data transfers

We and our service providers may process information in countries other than the one in which you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, for transfers of personal information.

7. Data retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. After you close your account, we delete or anonymize your information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and data isolation between accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. See our Security page for more detail.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. California residents may also have the right to know what personal information we collect and to opt out of its sale or sharing; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

You can disconnect integrations at any time from the Services or from the third-party provider. To exercise any other right, contact us at hello@useharkai.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to sign you in and keep the Services working. We do not use advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect how the Services work.

11. Children’s privacy

The Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Services.

13. Contact us
